Advocacy
Helping shape the future of Canadian citizenship and immigration law.
Representing clients will always be at the heart of my practice. But I also believe experienced practitioners have a responsibility to contribute to the profession, share knowledge, and help improve the systems we work within.
Whether I'm educating future professionals, leading industry discussions, or contributing to public consultations, I'm committed to making Canadian citizenship and immigration law more accessible, practical, and effective.
Educating the Next Generation
Education has been a defining part of my career.
For several years, I taught in the Immigration Consultant Program at Herzing College, helping prepare future immigration professionals for practice.
I also designed and served as the Architect and Program Director of the Immigration Case Manager Program, creating a practical curriculum focused on the knowledge and skills needed to support successful immigration practices.
Professional Leadership
Strong professions are built by practitioners who are willing to contribute beyond their own practice.
As a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC), I stay engaged with developments affecting the profession and the people we serve.
I also serve as Co-Chair of the HRPA Immigration Law Conference, bringing together legal professionals and industry leaders to discuss emerging issues and advance best practices in Canadian citizenship and immigration law for Canadian employers.
Contributing to Better Policy
When governments seek public input on proposed legislative and regulatory changes, I believe experienced practitioners have an important perspective to offer.
Drawing on thousands of client matters, I regularly participate in public consultations, providing practical insight into how proposed changes may affect individuals, families, employers, and the professionals who serve them.
Public Education
Citizenship and immigration law is often misunderstood or oversimplified.
As a trusted media commentator, I regularly provide legal analysis and context to help journalists and the public understand complex issues with clarity and accuracy.
Clear legal information empowers better decisions. Whether I'm speaking with a reporter, presenting to an audience, or advising a client, my focus is always the same: replacing confusion with understanding.
Why It Matters
Everything I do outside of my client work is driven by one belief: experience carries a responsibility to share it.
Teaching, professional leadership, public education, and policy advocacy all strengthen my work as a lawyer—and ultimately benefit the clients and communities I serve.
